Every month we answer questions from Smutlancers on a variety of topics. This month, the questions went a bit deeper from navigating how to speak about (and stand-up for) more inclusivity in the sex blogging community to how to support causes that matter to you. (Also, it’s episode 100 but we had no idea when we recorded this!)
June 2020 was better than June 2019 and yet, my net income has fallen several hundred dollars since the beginning of the year. Not sure if that means anything, but I only know it because I track my income each month. We shall see if it’s an indication of anything significant or just a typical blip in the life of a freelancer.

Basically, I became very anxious about telling a client I could no longer work with them, overprepared, lost sleep, and made the “perfect” plan. I forgot that a plan means nothing if the other person decides to react differently than you expect them to. Ultimately, my goal in this situation was to be a professional until the very end.
So how was May? Thankfully about the same as every other month. My vanilla income has decreased slightly but every other revenue stream has held steady which is definitely a win considering the state of the world.
