A friend just linked me to this – wow, such a necessary conversation! As a trans person I appreciate this a lot, but is it bad that I found it deeply ironic/kind of hilarious that the hosts are trying as hard as possible NOT to use hir correct pronouns? I’m guessing this is an issue around people’s discomfort with spoken neopronouns, but still.

Your assessment is right — we hadn’t grown comfortable actually saying hir pronouns at that point and we didn’t practice enough before recording the episode. Since then, we’ve spent more time saying hir pronouns out loud, and I hope we’ve gotten better at it.
